CAREERfare
CAREERfare is an original educational, informational – and inspirational – cable access television program conceived, hosted and produced by ellen o’brien. ellen is the principal and Chief Perspective Officer of azureleaf, LLC (her biography appears under the “About” tab of this website).
Universal career topics featured in the show’s segments include: résumé and cover letter creation; interviewing preparation and tips; personal branding; creating your “elevator pitch”; effective networking; S.M.A.R.T. job search techniques, and asset optimization.
Special segments focus on self-marketing for “older” workers and ongoing career/job viability. CAREERfare’s “Women.Work.Wisdom.” interview series offers viewers an up close, and often quite personal, look at local business women, entrepreneurs, community leaders and community volunteers.
CAREERfare offers something for almost everyone who has a career, wants a career, is looking to change careers – or start one, whether they’re college age, middle age, new age, or so-called “old” age. It’s also for those who eschew a career in favor of a job, or who want to translate and transfer pro bono skills and experience into the paying job market.
CAREERfare is also a curriculum, a workshop, a talk or a speech incorporating timeless – and timely – career, work, and job-related topics. All of the information shared in the program segments can be adopted – and adapted – into individual workshops or a workshop series, tailored for large or small group presentations, formal or informal business meetings.
CAREERfare’s content is created by ellen, inspired and informed by everyone, and is tested on – and approved by - her friends, business associates, and clients. As with everything she does, ellen’s goal is to simplify the process with her straightforward, humorous delivery, and easy-to-follow guidelines devoid of corporate doublespeak and gobbledygook.
The ½-hour show is carried by Four Village Studio (4vs.org), a “government access” non-commercial television facility providing community interest programming. It can be viewed by residents of Floral Park, South Floral Park, Bellerose Village and Stewart Manor on Cablevision/Optimum channel 18 or Verizon/FiOS channel 28, and may be carried by Cablevision in Nassau County, NY. |
